Today, October 1, Turkey celebrates World Old Persons Day. The UN General Assembly approved this holiday in 1990. It was made to attract the attention to problems of such people all over the world.
The population of the Earth is constantly increasing. This is mostly due to an increase in life expectancy, which cannot but rejoice. Nevertheless, with the increase in the number of such people, the problems associated with their role in society increase.
From October 1, 1991, conferences, festivals and charity events related to this holiday are held around the world. It help to convey and understand that caring for the elderly is, in fact, caring for the future of each person.
