The number of residential properties bought by foreigners increased by 15.8% in March
The number of residential properties bought by foreigners increased by 15.8% in March compared to the same month last year, the national statistical office reported.
According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), in March, 1,877 houses were sold to foreigners, of which 556 were in Istanbul, followed by Antalya, Bursa, Yalova and Trabzon.
Most of the housing sales were made to Iraqi citizens who bought 348 homes, followed by Saudi with 181, Iranians with 156, Russians with 120 and Afghans with 108 purchases.
Last year, foreigners purchased more than 22,000 properties in Turkey. The Iraqis were again on the top with 3,805 purchases in the house, followed by Saudi Arabia with 3,455, Kuwait from 1691, Russians from 1,331 and Afghans from 1,078.
