Turkey welcomes influx of tourists from Latin America

This year in Turkey a real tourist boom. The country has seen a significant increase in the number of tourists coming from all over the world, including Latin America, between January and July 2018. Representatives of the sector highly appreciated the results of the tourism industry, while noting, that according to their expectations, the number of tourists will continue to increase.

In this year, the number of tourists coming from South America has registered and reached 138.493% with most of them arriving from Argentina and Brazil.

Russians accounted for over 15 % or 3.3 million visitors in the first seven months of this year, followed by Germans with around 11 % or 2.3 million, and Iranians with 6% or 1.3 million visitors. Istanbul, Turkey’s largest city by population and one of its top tourist draws, and the Mediterranean resort city of Antalya recorded the greatest number of foreign arrivals, 7.5 million and 6.7 million, respectively.

Moreover, the number of tourists from China also reached significant figures about 225.000 Chinese visited the country in the first seven months of this year.

The CEO of Anadolu Agency (AA) said that 2018 was a very good year in terms of tourism. «I can say that tourists from all over the world Europeans, Russians and Arabs are very actively come to Turkey». As reported earlier, that the government of Antalya set a target of 40 million tourists and 32 billion in tourism revenue for 2018.
