The schedule of education of children in schools has changed in Turkey
Since the new 2019-2020 school year the schedule of education of children in schools has changed in Turkey. The Ministry of education considered that children need more rest. They discussed a new model of education for a long time and according to the upcoming changes there was a need to make changes to the schedule of the educational process. Now the children will have holidays 4 times a year, also with autumn and spring holidays. Such measures are designed to make the learning process more effective, because children need a break for rest and the opportunity to catch up on something missed and fill in the gaps in knowledge. Also, Turkey is one of the countries with the longest summer holidays in schools. Therefore, they decided to reduce the summer vacations by two weeks and to shift this time to November and April.
Thus, the 2019-2020 school year will begin a week earlier, on September 9, 2019 and will last until June 19.
Autumn holidays will 18 – 22 November (with weekends 9 days)
Winter holidays will last from 20 to 31 January 2020 (16 days in total)
Spring break April 6-10, 2020 (again with weekends 9 days)
The summer holidays will now be 11 weeks instead of 13 and will start on June 20, 2020.
With the new academic calendar, students will have more opportunities to relax, regain their strength and improve performance and academic performance.
